He wears a wide brimmed hat and a wrapping arond head conceals his face from the patrons. He walks forward, eyes darting about, taking in the layout of the tavern. He sits at the bar and orders a drink. As it is being prepared, he pulls a very long blade off his back, about 5 or 6 inches longer than a claymore. He then pulls back his cloak, unstrapping a War ax with an overly long handle. He then turns to his drink, minding his own business...

A local ranger observes him from a nearby table. He wears a forest green cloak with a hood and a thick leather armor. His trusty bow lies on the table next to his drink, while a green and silver quiver hangs on his belt. The ranger's knife is also on his belt, inside a leather sheath. He smokes a long wooden pipe covered with runes. Right now, his hood is pulled back so the others can see a young face with long dark hair and deep green eyes...

The figure notices the Ranger and smirks. "Yound ones always trying to make a standing in the world." he mumbles. Turning back to his drink, he notices a man, partially drunk, stalk toward him. "Ey, you." he says sheepishly. "You look like a bad seed, fella. What are you?" the figure smiled and pulled off his hat, revealing a young face with cold ice-blue eyes and short dark hair. What was most noticable was, right under his long pointed ears, were to slash mark tatoos on either side of his face. "There are many names I go by. My true name is Kyuketsuki, but I am know by different names in all languages. In the East, Kappa is my name. The south, it is Diablo. The north know me as Boggenheish." "And what would I call ya?" The man asked swaying. "That's quite simple. You would call me Nashaberenzu." At this, many of the elf patrons who were sober looked at Kyu with new light, and evil looks coming across there faces. "What would ya been in common, mister nashbbzu?" The drunk foamed. Kyu smiled and poured more wine into his glass. "You would call me Daemon." Kyu replied. At this, the man sobered quickly and tried to draw his blade. Before he even got the sword an inch of the way, he fell ver dead. Kyu still sat, his arm outstretched and a puzzling sight was in his hand. He held a katana. But he had not brought one in. Everyone had clearly seen a greatsword and a warax. Kyu grabbed the warax and slid the katana into the handle. Turning back to his drink, Kyu paid no attention to the other patrons, though several were standing and drawing weapons...

The Ranger had payed little attention to the drunk and the stranger, but when he heard the noise he looked around.
He stood up and walked nearer. "Hold on," he said to the elves. "I'm sure this stranger is going to explain his intent very soon. Let's not make hasty decisions. We might regret them afterwards. So, stranger, what do you say?" He looked at the "Demon" gravely, crossing his hand on his chest.

The Daemon smiled. "I say I have come here of my free will with no evil intent." Seeing how tense the Ranger was, he chuckled softly. "You can relax your guard, I mean no one any harm." Seeing everyone still looking at him with a distasteful look, he sighed. "Cannot a Daemon come into a tavern just to buy food and drink? Must I tell you wary beasts my full tale? I warn you if you ask for it. I have lived to see the rise and fall of three millenia. My tale is quite long."

"Everyone can come and go and have drinks in the tavern, even daemons," said the Ranger calmly. "But no one is allowed to kill a human being in tha tavern. No one. Not even daemons. You should explain yourself. What business did you have with this man?"

The Daemon looked down at the body, frowning. "I had no quarrel with this man. But he was prejiduce. He attacked me for my race. I had to defend my honor. If I had spared him, he would not have been merciful toward me. Do you wish to fight me, Ranger?"

The Ranger looked at the Daemon with a strange look in his deep eyes. "No," he said. "You speak well. You differ from other daemons I have met. My name is Iorlas, for your knowing, and I belong to the Green Clan. As for me, you may go in peace."

The Daemon stood up and bowed to the Ranger. "You are more understanding then I thought possible of mortals, Iorlas of the Green Clan. I am Kyuketsuki, a Daemon of the southlands. Please, I would be honored if you joined me in a drink."

"The honour is mine," said Iorlas and took a chair. He ordered a beer and lit his pipe again. "So. What brings a Daemon to these parts, if it's not a secret?" he asked, ignoring the hostile looks from the Elven patrons.

Kyu shrugged as he poured a glass of wine. "No reason truly. I have just come here on my way to the Druid lands to the north. They sent for one of my clan and I was sent to see why."

"Northern parts aren't safe any more," said Iorlas. "Our folk doesn't go there any more. It has been that way for a long time, since I was a kid. But my parents used to tell me stories about the famous Druids. we Rangers used to trade with them a lot. But now it's all different..." He sighed and took some beer before he continued. "We get messages from time to time about foul things such as lycantrophes and vampires. Five years ago we sent aid to the Druids on their request. Twenty of the finest archers we had. We never saw them again. My father went there too, and never returned... If you are determined to go, do watch your every step."

Kyu clapped Iorlas on the back. "Fear not for my safty. I have encountered such creatures before. They will not stop me. But I tell you, if I have time, I will look into your archers and your fathers deaths."

"I thank you for that decision," said Iorlas. They sat in silence for some time, the Ranger slowly smoking his pipe and obviously deep in his thoughts. Then suddenly he moved, just as he had reached some decision. His eyes moved to the window behind them. "It's getting dark." he said. "I must be going. It will rain tonight, with thunder. Fare thee well, and good luck in the North."
He stood up, grabbed his bow and pulled the cloak tighter around him. He went to the door, not waiting for the Daemon to answer. He wawed his hand one last time, and was gone. The door closed behind him.

Kyu, looking out the window, mutters. "Goodbye friend Iorlas, Ranger of the Green Clan. May your life be filled with adventure and love." Flipping some coins on the couner, Kyu stood and put his hat on, walking out the door.
************************
A while later, Kyu walked along in the woods, heading for the Druids keep. He had walked in complete silence and he heard a rustle to his far left. Thinking nothing of it, he kept walking. But a long while later, there were several more rustles and he knew he was being tailed. Whipping his greatsword out, he turns, studying the terrain with sure eyes. "Who ever you are, come forth. I know of your presence, and I can smell your sweat."
